The whole cabinet of Uttar Pradesh was involved in the Shram Daan (manual labor) on the ghats of Ganga. Besides this, the CM also announced for a broader initiative to completely clean the entire fair area, with a focus on removal of the leftovers by the people. Yogi Adityanath took to X, sharing the experience, āGuided by Prime Minister Narendra Modiās vision, and supported by dedicated cleanliness ambassadors, the dream of a well-organized and pristine Mahakumbh in Prayagraj has been realized. Today, along with my cabinet colleagues, I participated in the cleanliness campaign at Arail Ghat. The Chief Minister presented the World record certificates received in various categories during the closing ceremony on Thursday. One of which includes the mass sanitation drive by 15,000 workers carried out on the ghats and premises across the four zones set in Prayagraj city. The cleanliness drive was carried out on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Further, the CM has announced that the sanitation and health workers will be provided with Rs.10,000 bonus. The state government will also ensure that the workers get a minimum wage of Rs.16,000 from April 1. He also declared that the workers will get a health cover under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
The efforts and recognition of the workers is essential as they worked hard keeping the place clean and hygenic amidst the massive influx of pilgrims during the 45-day event. It is commendable that the state government is honoring them.
