Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath performed traditional girl worship with rituals in the Gorakhnath temple building on Thursday, the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. He first worshipped nine girls, symbolising the nine forms of Maa Bhagwati, by washing the feet of one Batuk Bhairav, then bid farewell to them with Dakshina by feeding them with his own hands. Due to this, other girls who reached the temple were also fed with the same devotion and bid farewell. On this occasion, CM said that worship of mother power is the culture of our country. That is why there is a ritual of worshipping girls on the ninth day of Navratri.

The time of Kanya Pujan was fixed at noon. The invited girls reached the place of worship before the CM did. First of all, he made nine girls and one Batuk Bhairav stand alternately in Thar and wash their feet. After that, she applied tika, put on chunri, and performed the aarti. After the puja, the programme of Kanya Bhoj started. CM went to all the girls one by one and served food on their plates with his own hands, feeding them after asking them regularly.

Because of this, he kept on caring for the children. After the meal, the CM bid farewell to all the girls with respect by giving them dakshina with his own hand. The children looked happy after worshipping the CM. Some even reacted. Said, Yogi Baba is very good. CM Yogi Adityanath worshipped Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Maa Bhagwati, at four o'clock in the morning in Brahma Muhurta on Thursday with Vedic chants.
