Lucknow: Protests have been taking place everywhere in Uttar Pradesh for the past 2 days over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). There is an atmosphere of protests and violence at various places from the capital Lucknow to the entire state. On Saturday morning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Governor Anandiben Patel on the NRC issue. It is being hoped that the CM has discussed the present situation with the Governor.

On Friday, 13 people died in violent protests in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including an eight-year-old child. According to the information, four people have died in Meerut, two each in Bijnor, Kanpur, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, Firozabad and Varanasi.

According to information received from the sources, the police administration has maintained complete peace in Meerut-Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor amidst the protests across the country against the citizenship law. Internet service is closed in these three cities and the force has been deployed on a whim. After Friday prayers, there was a lot of ruckus in Meerut-Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor. Four in Meerut, two in Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar were shot dead. At the same time, a case has been registered against 3600 people in five police stations of Ghaziabad district. The police have registered a case against these people for committing a ruckus. More than 400 people are also included in them. Police has also arrested 65 people.
