CM Yogi orders 15-day special campaign against illegal liquor sales in UP

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has issued instructions to form a team of Excise Department to stop the manufacture and sale of illegal and raw liquor and to issue a 15-day special campaign in every district. On giving information about this, Additional Chief Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhusreddy has stated that unwanted people in the winter season irregularly make raw liquor in their homes, which needs to be stopped effectively.

He further said that this campaign is being carried out to curb it so that illegal and raw liquor in any form is not manufactured and sold. Bhusreddy further said that necessary guidelines have been issued in this regard in all the districts. He said that for this campaign, the police department will also cooperate with the Excise Department's team at the district level as per the requirement so that the manufacture, sale and transportation of illegal raw liquor can be controlled in every situation.

Instructing the Additional Chief Secretary, that joint teams of Police, Administration and Excise should be formed through the District Magistrate and they should be supported by the enforcement units as required. These teams should raid the notorious places of illicit liquor and narcotics and destroy the illegal businesses and ensure action against the accused in the harshest sections of IPC and other acts.
