Lucknow: The UP administration is taking strict measures to curb the ongoing violent protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act. At present, mobile internet service has been stopped in 21 districts of the state and due to the possibility of nuisance, full vigil is being taken. Meanwhile, DGP OP Singh gave a strong message that innocent people are not being touched during the action, but the miscreants will not be spared. Giving a strong message to the violent elements, CM Yogi said that no matter whether he is a member of PFI or any political party, no one will be spared.
CM Yogi said that several teams of SIT have also been formed to investigate cases of violence. The DGP also said that mobile internet service is still closed in 21 districts of UP and it will be started according to the demand of the situation. UP DGP OP Singh has claimed that law and order in the state is completely under control. He further said that, 'We have continued the strategic deployment of the police force, as well as SIT has also been formed to investigate the cases. We have closed internet of 21 districts and this service will be restored only when the situation demands.
The DGP also said, 'We are not touching the innocent, but will not leave those who were involved in the violence. That is why we have arrested active members of many organizations. Whether it is a PFI or a member of a political party. Let us tell you that during the protest against CAA and NRC in Lucknow on December 19, the police also arrested Congress spokesperson Sadaf Zafar. Recently, Congress National Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi demanded his release.
