Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Population Policy 2021-2030 was implemented by Yogi Adityanath, CM of Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest state, today (Sunday). The event was held at chief minister Yogi's residence in Lucknow on the occasion of World Population Day. Population Stability Fortnight was also inaugurated in the programme.
Growing population hinders growth:-
Chief Minister Yogi said that population control has been under discussion for the last four decades. The growing population may be a hindrance to development somewhere. More population also increases poverty. I am happy to release the Population Policy 2021-2030. This policy takes care of every section. CM Yogi Adityanath said that after the formation of Prime Minister Modi's government at the Centre in 2014, the schemes benefited people from all walks of life. That is what we are also working on.
Chief Minister Yogi said, "I am confident that the draft population policy will be implemented in coordination and with the help of all departments." Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, "The growing population is the root cause of major difficulties including inequality prevailing in the society. Population control is the primary condition for the establishment of a promoted society. Let us take a pledge to make ourselves and the society aware of the increasing difficulties faced by the growing population on this 'World Population Day'." The draft Population Control Act has been prepared by the Uttar Pradesh Law Commission. The Uttar Pradesh Law Commission has sought suggestions from the people. A copy of the bill has been uploaded on the official portal of the Commission.
UP Law Commission Chairman Adityanath Mittal said whoever violates the rule of 2 children of the Population Control Act will be deprived of the benefits of all welfare schemes of the government. Adityanath Mittal said the Law Commission will hand over the draft bill to the UP government in the second week of August. This will not apply to those who have more than 2 children before the law is laid down.
The law will come after the recommendations of the public:-
Minister in the UP government Mohsin Raza said that our government is taking opinion from the people on the subject of population control law. After the recommendations of the people, we must bring this law.
