New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has termed the Mughals and the British responsible for the decline in India's economy. CM Yogi says that the Indian economy at the time of the Mughals was 36 percent, after the arrival of the British, it came down to 20 percent and the British increased it to four percent. Yogi said this at the World Hindu Economy Forum held in Mumbai on 27 September.

Yogi Adityanath said that before the Mughal attacks, the world, which you know as Hindu economy form, was entitled to more than one-third of the total economic power of the world. Its contribution was more than 36 percent in the world. After the fall of the Mughals and the arrival of the British, the Indian economy came down to 20 percent. Those who consider the British too great, they have brought this power of India to four percent. That is, India's share in the world trade was limited to only four percent till the British left from here.

After this, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi attacked CM Yogi. Owaisi said, "If UP's CM Yogi had read history and had any understanding of economics, he would have known that India's share in global GDP was 25% during the Mughal rule."
