High Court Dismisses Ex-Jharkhand CM's Plea Seeking Stay On Conviction To Contest Elections

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, who has been convicted in the corruption case in the midst of Corona crisis, will not be able to contest the election right now. The Delhi High Court has given a severe blow to Madhu Koda on Friday. The court rejected the demand to stay the order of conviction in the coal block allocation case.

Regarding the matter, the High Court said that it would not be appropriate to allow the appellant to contest elections for any public post until it is finalized.

On the other hand, the Health Ministry said that the rate of recovery of patients from corona infection was 41 percent. The percentage of deaths due to corona decreased from 3.13 to 3.02 percent. When we started the lockdown in the country, the doubling rate of Corona cases was 3.4 days and the doubling rate was 13.3 days. 24 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the BSF. With this, the number of active cases in BSF has increased to 108.
