Cold adds to woes for these states, IMD issues warning

New Delhi: Cold wave conditions are on the rise across north India and meanwhile the woes of people living in Delhi-NCR are set to increase as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in the evening or night on Thursday. At the same time, the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are being affected by western disturbances, which can affect the western Himalayan regions. IMD said delhi-ncr is likely to receive very light rain or drizzle in the evening or night on Thursday. It will also be partly cloudy and light fog in the morning. More cold is likely to intensify in Delhi-NCR after the rains.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, seasonal activities are also changing in the north Indian states and in addition to Delhi, cold has increased in north India including Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and UP. Delhi-NCR witnessed fog with mainly clear skies on Wednesday morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures of the day have been recorded at 23 degrees and 8 degrees Celsius respectively. Both high and minimum temperatures are likely to drop by at least one to 2 degrees in the coming few days. At the same time, the minimum temperature in most parts of north India has gone below 10 degrees Celsius.

The cold wave continues to rise in some cities of Rajasthan and the minimum temperature in Sangria in Hanumangarh district has reached 4.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Met department (IMD), Churu in Rajasthan recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 5.5 degrees Celsius, Nagaur 6.5 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar 6.6, Pilani 7.5, Alwar 7.8 degrees, Jaisalmer 8.6, Sirohi 8.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
