While soft drinks and fast food have increased in a changing lifestyle, it is also raising the concern of diseases. Excessively, if you take a cold drink, your health can be damaged. If you take a cold drink in pregnancy, you may be at risk for your child as well. According to research, a child with sweetened beverages during pregnancy can also suffer from obesity.
According to Meghan Azad, chief author of the University of Manitoba of Canada, "Our study provided the first human evidence that shows that consumption of artificially sweetened beverages during pregnancy is linked to the baby's weight change."
Researchers for this study assessed 3,033 mother-to-child pairs. During this period, the effect of the baby's body mass index was studied by the mother in the case of beverages taken during pregnancy.
findings of research
In the research, 30 per cent of women admitted consumption of artificial beverages such as soft drinks and tea-coffee. On the other hand, 5.1 per cent of women were found to have a regular intake of these substances and their offspring were more likely to have double the risk of obesity in the first year. This research has been published in US journal NAMA Pediatrics.
