Comedian Kunal Kamra got a bigger shock than expected. He has been banned by IndiGo and other airlines on charges of indecency with TV journalist Arnab Goswami. Kunal had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court regarding this matter. The Delhi High Court said during the hearing on Tuesday that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) should not have certified the action of airlines other than IndiGo.

Kamra has stated in her petition that IndiGo banned her for 6 months before reaching any decision of the internal committee, while other airlines - Air India, SpiceJet, and GoAir also accused and banned him. Senior advocates Vivek Tankha, Gopal Sankaranarayan and Mohit Mathur, appearing for Kamra, had requested the High Court to direct the airlines to lift the ban on DGCA. He has also demanded action against the airlines.

On this matter, Justice Naveen Chawla asked the DGCA to explain what action he intends to take in relation to the action taken by other airlines. The court will now hear the next hearing in this case on February 27. Before that, Kunal sent a legal notice to IndiGo Airlines. Kamra sent a notice to the airline to remove the six-month travel ban, apologize unconditionally and 25 lakh was demanded for damages.
