The Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi will release a commemorative coin of Rs 100 in honour of SmtVijayaRajeScindia on 12th October, 2020 through a virtual ceremony Officially announced in the PIB. Smt Vijaya Raje Scindia is popularly known as the Rajmata of Gwalior.
As a mark of celebrating the birth centenary of Vijaya Raje Scindia Honourable PM is releasing the coin. The special commemorative coin was minted by the Finance Ministry as a part of these celebrations. This coin will be released by the Prime Minister on her birth anniversary tomorrow. Family members of Smt. Scindia along with other dignitaries will also join the ceremony from different locations all over the country through virtual platform.
Rajamatha of Gwalior was born in 1919 and is the co-founder of Bharatiya Janata Party. She is one among the few people in propagating party’s Ram Janmabhoomi agenda. More than 100 coins in various denomination from 1964 is been released as a commemoration. First release is in 1964 commemorating Jawaharlal Nehru in 1 Rupee and 50 paise denominations. Various leaders, events, series, golden silver centenary platinum jubilee marks, organizations nationally and internationally have been released.
