The US and the European Union also said that they do not have enough syringes for the vaccine. Whereas in January, Brazil banned the export of syringes and needles so that it could complete the supply of syringes in its country. At the same time, Japan also expressed concern about the cause of the syringes. It is being said that between 8 billion and 10 billion syringes are needed all over the world and only 5% of syringes were used in the past years as per the requirement of the present. In such a situation, the demand has increased a lot now.

According to the report received, Prashant Yadav, Senior Fellow of the Center for Global Development, said that the United States, Britain, France, and Germany are spending a lot of money on vaccines, but very little has been spent on syringes. He also said that the manufacturing of special syringes that are useful for vaccines is a matter of concern. Talking about the figures, the US and China are big players in this field, who did the business of $ 1.7 billion, while India did the business of $ 32 million in 2019.
