VARANASI: A complaint was lodged in the MP-MLA court of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, against veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for allegedly sharing fake and fabricated quotes attributed to former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief MS Golwalkar. Advocate Shashank Shekhar Tripathi filed the complaint, asserting that Singh's actions have incited social hatred and tarnished the image of the RSS. The court has scheduled July 18, 2023, to record statements and evidence related to the case.

The controversy surrounding Digvijaya Singh's tweet originated on July 8, 2023, when an FIR was registered against him in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, for his controversial remarks about Golwalkar. The tweet, which featured a picture of Golwalkar along with comments portraying him as anti-Muslim and anti-Dalit, elicited strong objections from RSS workers. Consequently, Singh was booked under sections 153A, 469, 500, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, with the crime FIR number 311/23.

Advocate Rajesh Joshi, who filed the FIR in Indore, stated that Singh's tweet distorted Golwalkar's statements, leading to allegations of misrepresentation and the promotion of social disharmony. The RSS vehemently denied the accuracy of Singh's claims and accused him of selectively cropping the image to further his own agenda. Similar allegations have now been made by Shashank Shekhar Tripathi in Varanasi. Tripathi is the convenor of the BJP's Kashi region legal cell.

In Digvijaya Singh's tweet, he used fabricated quotes to suggest that Golwalkar opposed equal rights for Dalits, OBCs (Other Backward Classes), and Muslims. The controversial image claimed that these quotes were extracted from Golwalkar's book, 'We and Our Nationhood Identified.' Singh's tweet stated, "Know what was Guru Golwalkar ji's view on Dalits, OBCs, and Muslims and national rights over water, forest, and land."

One particular quote alleged that Golwalkar advocated for concentrating wealth and resources in the hands of a few trusted individuals while impoverishing the majority. Another claim attributed to Golwalkar asserted his readiness to serve the British rather than support freedom that granted equal rights to Dalits, OBCs, and Muslims.

Advocate Rajesh Joshi, who filed the FIR, contended that the dissemination of false and inappropriate posts to tarnish the image of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was unacceptable. The FIR serves as a response to the alleged defamation caused by Digvijaya Singh's social media activities.

The recent complaint filed in the MP-MLA court of Varanasi against Digvijaya Singh adds another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding his statements about MS Golwalkar.

Digvijay Singh has been in controversies in the past as well :-

Let me tell you, this is not the first time when Congress or Congress leader Digvijay Singh has tried to spread lies about RSS. Even, Rahul Gandhi is facing a defamation case for saying 'RSS got Mahatma Gandhi killed'. On the other hand, Digvijay Singh was several steps ahead of him, who had launched a whole book calling the 26/11 terror attack carried out by Pakistani terrorists as 'Hindu terrorism' and calling it a conspiracy of RSS. Actually, Pakistan also wanted that the blame of this terrorist attack should be on Hindus and anti-RSS mentality should spread in India. That's why he had sent terrorists to India by tying 'kalava' in their hands and keeping fake ID cards with Hindu names in their pockets. But, out of 10 terrorists, Ajmal Kasab was caught alive and both Pakistan and Digvijay Singh were exposed by that.

Not only this, Digvijay Singh has described Zakir Naik, the fugitive Islamic preacher who converted lakhs of people and pushed thousands of youths on the path of terrorism, as the 'Messiah of Peace'. This alleged messiah of peace by Digvijay Singh has fled India in 2016. Zakir Naik is facing charges of hate speech, money laundering and promoting terrorism in India and has been declared a proclaimed offender. Even today, most of the terrorists who are being caught in India, themselves confess that they became terrorists after listening to Zakir Naik's lectures. But Zakir Naik, the father of such terrorism, can be the messiah of peace for Digvijay Singh, so it is bound to raise questions on his thinking.
