Ranchi: A case of rape has come to light after the abduction of a 14-year-old minor girl in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The incident took place in the Bandgaon police station area. According to the report, the girl was abducted on April 17 and raped on April 19. The girl somehow escaped from the clutches of the criminal and informed her parents about it.

When the girl's father reached the Bandgaon police station to lodge a complaint, the policemen pointed out negligence in the case. According to the girl's family, their complaint was not lodged for two days. After which the victim's father approached Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais. The Governor ordered the police to take strict action in the matter immediately.

On the guidelines of Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar, on April 22, the police registered a complaint in the case and arrested the culprit Deka Munda. The accused has been booked under Section 366A/376(3)/323/504/506 including pocso act. Deka Munda is said to have links with a Naxalite organisation.
