Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in state, the Nagaland government has imposed complete lockdown for the next seven days.

The Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, held a meeting with the High Powered Committee on Tuesday. In the meeting it was announced that the state will be going under complete COVID-19 lockdown from 6 pm on Friday till May 21.

List of working allowed amid lockdown:

1. Essential services including agricultural activities will continue during the 7-day lockdown. Petrol pumps will remain operational.

2. Government offices in the state will be allowed to operate as per the timings.

3. Construction activities may continue while adhering to all the SOPs for the workers.

4. The Health and Family Welfare department will go for aggressive testing by utilizing the testing capacity of the COVID-19 labs.

5. Restrictions already imposed have no updates, will be continued as same in the state.

6. All places of mass gatherings like social, religious, cultural, political functions will be barred during the 7-day lockdown.

7. Marriages will be allowed, with prior permission, with a maximum of 20 guests.

8. Gatherings at a funeral capped at 20 guests.

9. Movement of all private and public vehicles will be suspended, except for medical emergencies.

10. Electronic/print media, telecom and internet service providers will be allowed ro function.

Meanwhile, Nagaland recorded 338 fresh cases taking the total caseload to 16890, revealed Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom.
