Thane, In a tragic incident, 4 industrial workers were injured in an explosion of a compressor in a dyeing unit in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi in the district.

An official of Bhiwandi Taluka police station said, that "the incident occurred last afternoon. Usually around 300 people work in the unit every day, but as it was a holiday today, most of them were not present there".

Official added, "only those who resided in the premises of the unit, sustained injuries in the explosion. While two workers have been admitted to a local hospital, the others were shifted to the Thane civil hospital".

No case has been registered till now and investigations are underway, said police.
