Amarnath Yatra 2023: Concluding the 62-day-long Amarnath Yatra 2023, a significant morning ritual took place at the revered Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The journey, spanning from July 1 to August 31, saw sadhus and pilgrims gathering at the shrine to participate in the morning aarti and offer their prayers.

Preceding this event, on Tuesday, the sacred 'Chhari Mubarak,' revered as Lord Shiva's symbolic mace, commenced its journey from Chandanwari in Pahalgam towards Sheshnaag, marking a pivotal moment in the culmination of the Amarnath Yatra. Spending the night at Chandanwari Pahalgam, the Chhari Mubarak proceeded to Sheshnaag. These rituals for the revered 'Chhari Mubarak' signify the culmination of the annual Amarnath Yatra.

Simultaneously, the annual pilgrimage to the historic Budha Amarnath temple in the Mandi area of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, also concluded on Raksha Bandhan. This pilgrimage stands as a testament to secularism, akin to an annual festival in which local Muslims actively partake. Notably, at the Sports Stadium Poonch, which served as the base camp, numerous Muslim youths volunteered daily to assist the pilgrims.

This year, participants in the Budha Amarnath Yatra, hailing from across the nation, explored the scenic marvels of Poonch. A significant number of pilgrims journeyed to visit Batilkot Lor and Gurdwara Nangali Sahib. Additionally, they relished the picturesque landscapes of Poonch by venturing to Than Peer, a captivating tourist destination.

Situated at an elevation of 4600 meters above sea level in Poonch, the Babadha Amarnath Temple, also referred to as the 'Chatani Baba Amarnath Temple,' holds great significance. This place of worship is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In accordance with Hindu beliefs, the pilgrimage to Amarnath Gupha attains its fulfillment upon paying homage to the Budha Amarnath Mandi.
