NEW DELHI: Congress leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah joined the BJP on Wednesday. Later, Marwah urged every G-23 leader in the Congress to join the BJP.

Between 1998 and 2013, Tarvinder Singh spent three terms as a member of the Delhi Assembly. He also worked as the chief minister's parliamentary secretary.

At the party headquarters in this city, Marwah formally joined the BJP in the presence of Vinod Tawde, co-head of the media department, Sanjay Mayukh, spokesperson Prem Shukla, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Marwah was welcomed into the party by Tawde, who also stated that Marwah's participation will strengthen the party and that he will be given the proper responsibilities to serve the public in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.

After joining, Marwah congratulated BJP leader J.P. Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Modi and pledged to "serve the party until his dying breath."

Marwah claimed that Amit Shah had encouraged him to run for the BJP in the last Delhi Assembly election in 2020. "devoted my entire life to the Congress party during my youth. However, there is little regard for the employees who gave their all to the party. Hardworking employees are replaced by general secretaries who no one knows. Seats in the Rajya Sabha were awarded to candidates who lost the election. People who are not eligible for employment, not even as peons, are key responsibilities," Marwah said.
