The Indian National Congress has accused the Modi government of waiving loans of more than 8 lakh crore rupees from its special industrialists since 2014. The party has demanded the formation of a high-level committee to reveal the names of these industrialists and investigate the process of debt waiver. There has been no response from the government or the BJP to the Congress charge.

On this matter, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has made allegations against the government citing the report of Credit Suisse, a company providing financial services at a global level.

He alleged that the people whose debts have been forgiven are industrialists close to the government. The party has questioned why farmers' loans cannot be forgiven.
