Congress and Karnataka JD(S) seal this numbers of seat sharing in LS Poll on Karnataka

Bengaluru: On Wednesday, the seat-sharing parleys between Congress and its Karnataka ally Janata Dal (Secular) were concluded by the two coalition partners. It was decided that Congress will contest from 20 seats and JD(S) will get 8 seats out of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka.The complete details of the seat-sharing formula are yet to emerge with respect to how the two parties divided the constituencies amongst themselves.

However, JD(S) is yet to be finalized the contesting members in seat sharing and party decide it further party members here as for JD(S) it was decided that the HD Deve Gowda-led party will contest from Hassan, Mandya, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Bengaluru North, Tumkur and Vijayapura constituencies, reported PTI quoting sources.

It is to be noted that Congress was keen on retaining the Mysuru seat for itself.  JD(S) had earlier declared Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Prajwal Revanna as candidates from the party bastions of Mandya and Hassan respectively. However it is to be important keen to be noticed that JD(S) had initially demanded 12 seats for itself but the two parties were not able to reach a consensus on the same.

Earlier, before getting to this coalition into action JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda after a meeting with Rahul Gandhi on March 6, said he put forth a demand of 12 seats but said a final decision will be taken by Congress president on March 15. After this statement of HD Deve Gowda this statement came into action to be noticed, in this part Congress gets a big achievement to get coalition on it.
