New Delhi: Congress MPs on Wednesday raised a hue and cry in the lower house of Parliament over the Pegasus espionage case and agricultural laws and also tossed pamphlets towards the chair chairman's seat. Talking to media on the uproar by the Opposition in the House, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that Congress and Trinamool Congress MPs have broken the dignity of the House.

Anurag Thakur further said, "Papers are being thrown at the speaker and sometimes on ministers by opposition MPs. Now even papers are being thrown in the press gallery. While PM Modi has already said that the government is ready to discuss every issue. Congress and TMC MPs tried not to allow Parliament to function even today.'' Anurag Thakur further said, "Why has the opposition been a part of the discussions?" He said, "Why is the Opposition involved in such objectionable acts? Does the Opposition not have enough issues to discuss? Is the Opposition trying to defame India all over the world? We strongly condemn such acts."

Opposition leaders marched today and came to Vijay Chowk and spoke to the media, while opposition MPs also raised a hue and cry in the Upper House today demanding a discussion on the Pegasus Project report. The scene created in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday was nothing different from the rest of the day. Most of the MPs with placards in their hands were seen shouting slogans against the Modi government in protest against the espionage scandal. Several opposition parties, including the Congress and the Trinamool Congress, appeared united on the issue.
