The Congress on Monday released its list of six candidates for Delhi with former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit being fielded from Delhi North East constituency against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari. While Sheila Dikshit will be contesting from Northeast Delhi, Ajay Maken has been fielded from Delhi. Sheila Dikshit, former chief minister of Delhi and president of state Congress unit, will contest Lok Sabha elections from Delhi. She will contest from North East Delhi. Her name was announced after the Congress declared list of candidates for six out of seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi.

The Congress’ list came hours after the BJP announced its list of candidates for Delhi. The saffron party has fielded Union Minister Harshwardhan from Chandni Chowk, Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi, Pracesh Rana from West Delhi and Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won all the seven seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The party has not declared a candidate for the South Delhi seat.
