BANGALORE: The whole country knows that it was the Congress Party that gave birth to corruption and illegality, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.  The CM made this statement while responding to Congress' complaint filed against former water resources minister and BJP leader Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Responding to the complaint filed by Congress leaders with the High Ground police station against Bharatiya Janata Party leaders accusing them of indulging in illegal practices to attract the voters, he told media persons that this shows to what level they have stooped.

Someone will respond, and then others will clarify and respond. Every lady will receive Rs. 2,000 from the Congress Party, and every household would receive 200 free electricity units. They are making new promises every day. Are the Congress leaders innocent if the same standard is used? Why don't they make fresh promises to win over voters? Bommai inquired.

The Chief Minister said that evidence of the distribution of pressure cookers to voters together with the images of four to five MLAs had been found.

Four people have been apprehended and fined in Kunigal by the Commercial Tax inspectors. Details will be gathered, and it will be inquired about. Despite all of this, he claimed, the Congress leaders are attempting to confuse the populace.

They are making these complaints because they know they will lose the election. He said that there is law and order and encouraged investigation.
