Congress reaches Election Commission against Asaduddin Owaisi, complaint lodged

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress complained to the Election Commission against AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. According to the media report, he alleged that Asaduddin Owaisi violated the rules (code of conduct). Congress has demanded action against Owaisi. Telangana PCC Election Coordination Committee Chairman Marri Sasidhar Reddy complained against Owaisi to the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday.

He said that while campaigning for the municipal election, Asaduddin in Sangareddy had said that if someone gives rupees to voters, then take money from it and vote for AIMIM. It seems from his statement that he has tried to promote the trend of distributing money in elections. Sasidhar Reddy said that Owaisi violated the code of conduct in the election and action should be taken against him.

Owaisi had made a controversial appeal to the people and said that the "Congress leaders have a lot of money if they are giving you money then take it. Since you are getting this money because of me, I will vote for me. But I tell the Congress that my price is not only 2000 rupees.
