New Delhi: The Congress has accused the Government of hiding the figures of corona deaths in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The Congress said chief ministers of these states Yogi Adityanath, Vijay Rupani and Shivraj Singh Chouhan should resign from their posts taking moral responsibility. The Congress also requested PM Modi to conduct a judicial inquiry to ascertain the actual figure of covid deaths in the country and fix accountability of those who hide the figures.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala cited a news item related to covid death figures in Madhya Pradesh and said PM Modi and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan should respond to it. He tweeted that, "170,000 deaths in May alone only in Madhya Pradesh. What you don't think, you don't hear, is the truth in front of you. Madhyapradesh. How did human life become the cheapest? Why did the soul die? How is Shivraj sitting on the rule? Let the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister come forward, tell me who is responsible?"

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said, "NDA means 'no data available'. Economy and job figures are being hidden. Now the figures of people dying are being hidden, which is very sad. The actual death toll in New India is no longer being given".
