Puducherry: The Congress party government has fallen during the floor test in Puducherry Assembly. CM Narayanasamy has submitted his resignation to the Lieutenant Governor. After the resignation of six MLAs, Narayanasamy's government came in a minority. Two legislators resigned on Sunday. After this, the political crisis deepened here.
Today, Puducherry CM Narayanasamy walked out of the assembly along with the supporting MLAs. He met the Lt. Governor and submitted his resignation. Earlier in the Assembly, Puducherry CM V. Narayanasamy said, "We formed the government with the support of DMK and Independent MLAs. After that, we faced various elections. We have won all the by-elections. It is clear that the people of Puducherry believe in us.''
Attacking former Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, he said, ''Bedi and the central government clashed with the opposition and tried to topple the government. As soon as our MLA united, we managed to get the final 5 years. The Central Government has betrayed the people of Puducherry.” In the Assembly, Narayanasamy said that, in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, we follow a two-language system, but the BJP is forcibly trying to implement Hindi. Narayanasamy said that legislators should remain loyal to the party. The MLA who resigned would not be able to face the public as people would call him opportunistic.
