New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has attacked BJP in Lok Sabha citing BJP leader Anant Kumar Hegde's statement on Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that, today they are abusing Mahatma Gandhi, they are children of Ravana. Disrespecting Rama's priest. There has been a lot of uproar in Parliament after the statement of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary.

BJP MPs stood up from their seats and opposed it. Hegde had allegedly claimed in a Bengaluru event that the entire freedom struggle was fought with the consent and cooperation of the British and that the freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi was a 'drama'. Earlier, there was a ruckus in the Lok Sabha today over the statement of Anant Kumar Hegde. After which the Lok Sabha's action was adjourned at 12 o'clock. After the resumption of Lok Sabha proceedings at 12 o'clock, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary made an objectionable statement about Ravana.

The Congress has said on Monday about the alleged statement of BJP leader Anant Hegde regarding Mahatma Gandhi, that PM Narendra Modi should clarify this in Parliament. Senior party spokesperson Anand Sharma also alleged that many BJP leaders and ministers are making inflammatory statements to gain votes through polarization in the Delhi elections, which hurt the soul of the country.
