Mumbai: Veteran Mumbai Congress leader and former MP Eknath Gaikwad have passed away tragically due to corona infection. He took his last breath at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai this morning. Let's say Gaikwad was the father of Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad. He had also served as president of the Mumbai Congress unit.

Eknath Gaikwad was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for the past several days. He breathed his last around 10 am on Wednesday. He is said to be cremated at Chandanwadi Shamshan Bhoomi in Mumbai. Tell me, Gaikwad had also served as a minister in the state cabinet. 

Eknath Gaikwad had also defeated Shiv Sena leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi from the south-central Mumbai parliamentary seat. Joshi was also addressed as a giant killer after he was defeated in the election. After which he had won the seat twice and reached Parliament. However, this time he was defeated by Shiv Sena's Rahul Shewale in the election.
