Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot criticized the BJP, alleging that they are attempting to divert people's attention from the main issues of inflation and unemployment during the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
Gehlot emphasized that while the Congress's main concerns during the elections are inflation and unemployment, the BJP is trying to divert the nation's attention. Referring to PM Modi's statement about industrialists during his rallies, Gehlot pointed out that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has consistently highlighted the dominance of a few industrialists, including Ambani and Adani, who control a significant portion of the nation's wealth.
He questioned why loans of industrialists could be waived while the loans of farmers remain untouched. Gehlot further stated that PM Modi's accusation about black money being transported in tempos should be investigated by the CBI and ED, and the Prime Minister should provide evidence to support his claim.
Gehlot insisted that an investigation should be launched against PM Modi for his serious allegations and suggested that agencies like the ED, CBI, and Income Tax should initiate the inquiry. He added that PM Modi should provide evidence to support his claims about black money being transported in tempos.
Gehlot's statements come after PM Modi criticized the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, questioning their silence on Ambani and Adani and suggesting a possible deal between them. PM Modi asked if the Congress had received a "tempo filled with currency notes" from the two businessmen.
In a public rally in Telangana's Karimpur, PM Modi accused the Congress of stopping its criticism of Ambani and Adani since the election was declared. He demanded that Rahul Gandhi disclose the amount of money received from Ambani and Adani for the ongoing elections and whether they had received bags of black money.
