New Delhi: Congress has targeted PM Narendra Modi's ambitious plan on self-reliant India. Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal said that for self-reliant India, the government should increase the facility of research and development at the university level, otherwise the country cannot become self-sufficient.

Kapil Sibal, a lawyer by profession, said on Friday that our research and development spending is only 0.7 per cent of GDP, while 4.6 per cent in Israel, 4.5 per cent in Korea, 3 per cent in Germany and 2.2 per cent in France are spent on research and development. . We need to increase it further. Former Union Minister Kapil Sibal said that self-sufficient India is nothing but a betrayal of itself. This is another jumla. India has slipped 10 ranks in the World Economic Forum's World Competitive Ranking. The CEOs of the major multinationals are of Indian origin. We can be vocal about them, but what about our local?

Kapil Sibal said that the government cannot see the plight of migrant workers. Mobile phones are not manufactured here under Make in India, but are assembled. Only 30 percent of the work is done.
