New Delhi: The Congress party suffered a major setback on Wednesday morning when veteran leader Ahmed Patel breathed his last at the hospital. Ahmed Patel, 71, was infected with Corona a month ago, after which he was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gurugram. In the early hours of his son Faisal Patel informed about the death, after which Congress leaders consoled the family in this time of grief.

Former Union Minister and Congress leader Kapil Sibal then reached Ahmed Patel's house in Delhi. His eyes were moist. The tongue was faltering. He had lost his friend. He had lost a leader who, despite being on screen, always remained in the lead role. Perhaps this was the reason that when tears came out of the eyes of Kapil Sibal, saddened by the death of Ahmed Patel, he also mentioned his role in the Congress party. Sibal has said, 'I do not know what the Congress party will do without them because such people are born very rarely and they will always be remembered.'

This statement of Kapil Sibal is enough to tell what was the importance of Ahmed Patel's stay in the Congress Party. He was always at the forefront as the biggest troubleshooter of the Congress and the closest advisor to Sonia Gandhi. From Indira to Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Ahmed Patel kept pace with the three generations of the Gandhi family and always stood by the Gandhi family. Patel always worked in the organization but never became part of the government.
