New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget for 2021-22 in Parliament today. Soon after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget speech, the Congress claimed that the Finance Minister did not mention a record 37-month record decline in GDP during his speech and did not focus on accelerating the economy.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari tweeted that, "There is no mention of GDP in Nirmala Sitharaman's speech that GDP has recorded a record decline of 37 months." He said that this is the biggest crisis since 1991. He further wrote that apart from selling valuable assets, no other work was taken care of in the budget. He said that the special thing is that there is no focus on advancing the economy, only the valuable assets of the country are being sold.

Reacting to the budget, Congress has said that the government is in the process of selling everything. Party leader and MP Shashi Tharoor taunted that this is a government that if a vehicle driver says that he needs to fix the brakes, then the carmaker says to increase the sound of the horn.
