Damoh: A former Congress IT cell in-charge has been accused of molesting a minor in Madhya Pradesh. On the complaint of the 14-year-old girl, activists associated with Hindu organisations caught him, on Wednesday evening and handed him over to the police. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The culprits were produced in court on Thursday and sent to jail.
The girl said that Naushad Khan (30), son of Mehboob Khan, a resident of Noori Nagar under Kotwali police station area, was harassing her on Wednesday evening. When she was going to the district hospital on foot. Out of fear, when she left the hospital towards the court, he came back on a scooty and tried to put pressure on her with the wrong intention. She ran away from there and went towards the bus stand, but he also reached there while chasing. When the girl returned to the district hospital premises, the criminal came there chasing and started harassing her. Due to this, activists associated with Hindu organizations were seen standing, to whom the teenager narrated the incident.
The activists caught him and handed him over to the police. District Congress president Ratan Chandra Jain said that Naushad Khan was the IT cell in-charge of Damoh assembly in the 2018 assembly elections. Subsequently, when the by-election was held, Naushad started supporting the BJP candidate. At the same time, he was expelled from the Congress. A case of molestation of a minor has come to light. Kotwali police have arrested the culprit and he was produced in court on Thursday and sent to jail.
