New Delhi: During the general discussion on the budget in Rajya Sabha, Congress leader and former Union Minister P. Chidambaram said that this government believes that the economy will be corrected by correcting the supply side. While there is a need to increase demand. The poor have been ignored in the budget. Chidambaram said in the Upper House of MP, 'Former Chief Economic Advisor Dr Arvind Subramaniam had said that the country's economy is in the ICU even before Corona.'

Chidambaram further said that economist Abhijeet Banerjee, who received the Nobel Prize, also described the economy of the country in poor condition. The economy of the country has continued to soften for 8 quarters. The government is in denial mode. She does not want to accept the reality of softness in the economy. Chidambaram further said that the Finance Minister and other spokespersons of the government do not want to consider our concerns. He just repeatedly shows that 'everything is fine.' It is repeatedly said that the economy will return growth in the next quarter. But two years of softening in the economy is the reality and after that Corona arrived.

The Congress leader said that we have asked the government many times that whenever it tries to remove the softness in the economy, it will do two things, first, it will send money to the poor, cash should be paid and secondly, the grains lying in the government godowns are free to the poor. But there is no provision for giving the smallest amount of cash to the poor in the budget 2021-22, nor free ration management has been continued.
