New Delhi: On its 91st anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) commemorated the occasion with a grand Air Force Day parade in Prayagraj. Established in 1932, the IAF dropped its “Royal” prefix in 1950, signifying its transition to an independent and sovereign force. This year's theme, 'IAF – Airpower Beyond Boundaries,' underlined the IAF's unwavering commitment to excellence and national defense.

Traditionally held at Hindon, the parade was moved outside the national capital in recent years, and this year, Prayagraj played host to the impressive event. The festivities included a spectacular airshow featuring various aircraft, showcasing the IAF's capabilities and achievements.

Several Indian leaders extended their best wishes to the Indian Air Force on this special occasion, expressing their pride and gratitude for the air warriors' service and dedication.

President Droupadi Murmu: In a message, President Droupadi Murmu expressed her pride in the continuous growth and achievements of the Indian Air Force. She stated, "Greetings to all our air warriors and their families on Air Force Day! Our Air Force has been scaling greater heights. The nation is proud to have such a strong, courageous, and dynamic Air Force which is always prepared to face challenges. I salute our inspiring heroes who not only protect the skies but also remain in the forefront for humanitarian assistance."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video in which he commended the valor and dedication of the Indian Air Force personnel. He said, "Best wishes to all air warriors and their families on Air Force Day. India is proud of the valor, commitment, and dedication of the Indian Air Force. Their great service and sacrifice ensure our skies are safe."

Home Minister Amit Shah: Amit Shah lauded the Air Force's efforts in safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation. He wrote, "Greetings to the Air Force personnel on Indian Air Force Day. With its wings of steel and the heart of courage, the Indian Air Force has fervently secured the nation's interests during war and peace. On this auspicious occasion, I commemorate the invaluable service and the sacrifices made by them to protect the sovereignty of the nation."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his pride in the Air Force's role in ensuring the safety of the country. He wrote, "Greetings and warm wishes to all Indian Air Force personnel and their families on the occasion of the #91stAnniversary of this amazing force. We are proud of our Air warriors who play a significant role in keeping India safe. The IAF today is a lethal and formidable force, projecting its air power beyond boundaries."

However, it's worth noting that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not express any wishes or statements in honor of the Indian Air Force on its 91st anniversary, raising questions about his stance on this important national celebration.
