Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has quashed the proceedings against senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid. In fact, Salman Khurshid had made indecent remarks against the state's CM Yogi Adityanath during the campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Farrukhabad city of UP. Court proceedings in the case registered against senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid have been canceled after Salman Khurshid expressed regret in this matter.

The case was registered after Congress leader Salman Khurshid made indecent remarks in response to a question from journalists. While campaigning for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Khurshid was asked by reporters regarding CM Yogi Adityanath's comment that Khurshid was a sympathizer of Batla House accused/terrorists. In response to this, the Congress leader made derogatory remarks against CM Yogi and said, 'Rishte Me Ham Unke (Yogi's) Baap Lagte Hai'.

In an order passed by Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh on Monday (February 13), the Court noted that the entire proceedings starting from the case registered in 2019, which is pending in the Court of Special Judge (SC/ST ACT), Farrukhabad, which has been quashed. The order states that 'the petitioner has expressed regret for his objectionable remarks, which means that he still has the hunger to learn and admit his mistake bravely.'

The judge has said in his order that, 'Considering the affidavit submitted by Salman Khurshid and considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, in the context in which he made the objectionable statement, he is sorry for his remark. In such a situation, I think that it would not be appropriate to take action against him.' Let us inform you that, earlier, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had also made allegations of 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' regarding PM Modi. Taking the name of the Supreme Court, Rahul said that even the court has accepted that the 'Chowkidar Chor Hai.' On this, the court reprimanded Rahul and said that do not present misleading facts in the name of the court. After which Rahul Gandhi had to apologize in court.
