New Delhi: Senior leader Shashi Tharoor has shown a mirror to the Congress, which is constantly falling behind on the pitch of politics. Tharoor, a Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, known for his impeccable rhetoric, has instructed his party for self-determination. Tharoor said that our principle should be to identify its shortcomings. We need to understand why people voted for Narendra Modi.
Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday reminded the Congress leaders of the flaws inside the party. Tharoor said, 'We need to understand why people voted for Narendra Modi ... We had received 19 per cent votes in the years 2014 and 2019. At the same time, the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi garnered 31 per cent votes in 2014, while in 2019, 37 per cent votes. Most of those who voted for the BJP were those who were earlier Congress voters.
Tharoor further said, 'Unless you understand why people have left you ... how will you be able to bring them back. I am not praising Narendra Modi. I am saying that let us understand what attracted those voters. We need to know what has been done right and what is wrong ... We have to better ourselves by finding flaws and failures.
