Congress workers throw own bike into the lake to protest against Modi government

In Telangana, youth Congress members throw their own bikes in Hussain Sagar Lake to protest against rising petrol diesel prices. They demanded withdrawal of rising prices of petrol diesel. Members of the Congress unit in Telangana started protesting around the petrol pump. State Unit President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Executive Chairman A Revanth Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar, MPs Komati Reddy, Venkatreddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramark, MLA T Jayprakash Reddy, AICC spokesperson Dasoju Shravan and several Congress leaders were also present at the demonstration. On June 9, the Congress had announced that protests would be held across the country on June 11 due to petrol diesel prices. He said that when the price of petrol diesel crosses 100, protests will be started on the roads. The party requested units and frontal organisations of all states to join the protest meeting.

Congress organisation general secretary KC Venugopal had demanded a protest. He said there should be a campaign against the rampant hike in petrol and diesel prices, unemployment, pay cuts and its impact on those suffering from lack of employment.

It is learnt that KC Venugopal had written to the state unit that the price of petrol diesel is skyrocketing across the country. The hike in the price of petrol will also increase the price of domestic goods. In many States, the price of petrol has crossed Rs.100.
