Congress leader Alpesh Thakor has resigned from the post of Congress MLA. Alpesh Thakor said that he had trusted Rahul Gandhi but he had cheated. After cross-voting, Alpesh Thakor resigned as MLA. Congress MLA Bharat Ji Thakor is also in touch with the BJP and is likely to resign soon.
After resigning, Alpesh Thakor said, "I trusted Rahul Gandhi and joined the Congress party, but unfortunately he did nothing for us. The party has lost its base, we have been repeatedly insulted. That is why I have resigned from the post of MLA and i have left Congress.

Thakor's statement is a great resentment for Congress and Rahul Gandhi and the way he responded to his vote is pointing out that he has not voted for the Congress in the Rajya Sabha by-election. Alpesh Thakor and his close aide Dhawan Jhala voted in favour of BJP candidates instead of the Congress candidate.
