New Delhi: Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi today held a big meeting (March 5) over the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections, which lasted nearly two hours, in which several important decisions were taken. In the meeting, it was decided that all the office bearers of the Delhi Congress will come together and take the lead in the elections. This time the party will go to the polls on issues like corruption, cleanliness.

According to Delhi Congress in-charge Shakti Singh, the membership drive of the Delhi Congress is underway and the candidates will be selected for the first time by the workers. So far, more than 1,100 candidates have filed their nominations to contest from Congress. The Delhi Congress unit president said that more than 1.5 lakh people have been added under the digital membership drive. They will play an important role in the selection of candidates.

The meeting was held at the residence of former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi, which was attended by Delhi Congress state president Anil Chaudhary, Ajay Maken, Jai Prakash Agarwal, Devendra Yadav, Haroon Yusuf, Rajesh Lilothia, KC Venugopal, Delhi Congress vice-president Abhishek Dutt, Ali Mehndi, Jai Kishan. The election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is proposed in April. However, the dates for this are due to be announced in March.
