New Delhi: The election of the National President of Congress seems likely to be postponed for a few more days. The option of postponing the election by a few weeks will also be discussed in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting to be held on August 28. However, the final decision regarding this will be taken only after the CWC meeting on August 28. The election of Congress President was proposed between 20 August and 21 September.

Let us tell you that till now no leader has submitted a claim for the Congress President. In such a situation, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi had a meeting with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday. During this, Sonia Gandhi requested Gehlot to take over the post of Congress chief. However, CM Gehlot has said that he does not know in this regard and he has also come to know about this from the media. Gehlot said that he is fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to him by the party.

The post of Congress President has been vacant since 2019, but there is a lot of hesitation in the party for that. The election of the Congress chief has been extended several times and rescheduled for September 20. If Congress leaders are to be believed, the date for the election of the Congress President can be extended for a few days, but there is no possibility of another long extension in the dates of the elections.
