Congress promises employment, pension benefits for COVID-19 victims

Madhya Pradesh Congress has promised to provide various benefits including employment and pension to corona affected victims.  The Congress has released its 52-point Vachan Patra or manifesto for the impending state assembly by-polls. A separate manifesto has been released for each Vidhan Sabha constituency. This has announced by the former CM Kamal Nath while addressing the media. He said that the corona affected families will get Corona social security pension.

The manifesto, which focuses on Covid-19 affected people, farmers, unemployed youth, women and businessmen. Releasing a list of promises fulfilled during Congress’ 15-month-long tenure in state, Kamal Nath said, “During the term of fifteen months, Congress fulfilled 574 promises, out of 974 mentioned in the manifesto released before the 2018 assembly election.” He also said,  he does not believe in making fake promises like MP Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan adding that Congress opposed farm bills amendment in labour laws permitted in the monsoon session of Parliament and claimed that they would not be executed in Madhya Pradesh if Congress comes to power.

He added, “If Congress comes to power, it will start Corona Samajik Suraksha Pension Scheme for the next family member of those who die due to Covid-19. Likewise, employments will be given to a family member of Covid-19 victims.

The manifesto, carrying pictures of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, also stated that businessmen affected by the Covid-19 will be provided Rs50,000 loan with no interest to restart their businesses. Further, no fee will be charged on unemployed youth for applying for government jobs, as well as the farm loan waiver scheme will be resumed.
