New Delhi: Congress on Monday accused PM Narendra Modi of a statement regarding the National Register of Citizens (NRC), alleging that this government is fooling the country on the issue of NRC. Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted that, "Saheb speaks in Delhi that there was no discussion on the NRC but in the Jharkhand election manifesto on 28 November, the BJP promises to implement the NRC."

Surjewala further said, "Now tell two things- 1. No harmony between PM and Home Minister? 2. Is there a rift between power and organization? Or together they are making a fool of the country!" PM Narendra Modi on Sunday said in a huge BJP rally held at Ramlila Maidan that the rumor is being spread while there is no discussion on NRC.
