New Delhi: The Congress is now gearing up to corner the Modi government in the Pegasus espionage case. While the Congress party will hold press conferences in every state of the country on Wednesday on the 'Pegasus Project' media report, all the state units of the party will take out protest marches to all Raj Bhavan's across the country on Thursday. On Tuesday, senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge hit out at the Central government saying that if it is a lie, file a defamation case.

At the same time, he said that you are denying all the evidence. We did not name The Hindu, Indian Express, Hindustan Times. The names of Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders have come up. Kharge said it is the job of this government to spy and scare. Congress Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that this is a serious issue and we have to hold talks among like-minded people. It is against constitutional authority. Earlier on Monday, Congress demanded an independent probe into the alleged spying of several celebrities, including Rahul Gandhi, through Israeli spyware pegasus, saying Home Minister Amit Shah should resign or be dismissed over the issue.

The Congress has claimed that the use of Pegasus was used to spy on former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi, several other opposition leaders, media groups, and prominent people from different regions. It also said that PM Modi's role in the case should also be investigated. Rahul Gandhi also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue. Rahul Gandhi tweeted that we know he is reading everything on his phone.
