Congress youth leader Krishank Manne sets party flag on fire and resigns

Hyderabad: Just few days before 2019 general elections, youth leader Krishank Manne resigned from the party membership citing 'humiliation' and disappointment for not recognizing his work.

Manne shot an open letter to party president Rahul Gandhi announcing his resignation,  and burnt the party flag, election campaign material. Manne has announced that he will join the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in presence of its working president KT Rama Rao.

In the letter, Manne alleged that he was discouraged by Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on several occasions and was targeted for encouraging youths in the party.

The youth leader attacked the state Congress leaders saying that they had made a lot of money and have stopped contributing to the party in any way. 

In his open letter, Manne mentioned that he was jailed while leading agitations demanding justice for Rohith Vemula and had worked hard for the party in the last 4 years.

Manne who rose to prominence during students agitations back in 2012-13 demanding separate statehood for Telangana is a prominent leader from Secunderabad and was denied ticket in the recently held Assembly polls in the state. Manne claimed that he was announced Congress candidate from Secunderabad Cantonment during the 2014 state elections but even at that time his name was replaced in the last minute.
