New Delhi:26th November is a very special day for every Indian citizen every year. In fact, this is the day when the Constituent Assembly of the country duly adopted the present Constitution. It is this Constitution that makes us feel the spirit of an independent citizen of a free country. While the fundamental rights of the Constitution become our shield and give us all our rights, it also explains to us our responsibilities in the fundamental duty it gives us. Every year, 26th November is celebrated as Constitution Day in the country. November 26 is also known as National Law Day. However, it was implemented on 26th January, 1950.

On November 26, 2015, as the 125th birthday of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment had notified the Central Government's decision to celebrate the day as 'Constitution Day'. The day is celebrated to promote a sense of respect among citizens towards constitutional values.

The Indian Constitution is the longest written Constitution in the world. In many parts of which are taken from the Constitution of the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Ireland, Australia, Canada and Japan. It describes the fundamental rights, duties, role of the government, powers of the Prime Minister, the President, the Governor and the Chief Minister of the country. The Constitution mentions what is the function of the Legislature, the Executive and the Judiciary, the role they have in running the country. In how many days it was ready:- It took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to prepare the entire Constitution. It was completed on 26th November, 1949. This Constitution of the Republic of India was enacted on 26th January, 1950.

- The real copy of the Constitution was written by Prem Bihari Narayan Raizada by hand. It is written in italic letters through excellent calligraphy. Each page of which was decorated by the artists of Santiniketan.

- The real copies of the Constitution are written in Hindi and English in 2 languages. They are still preserved in helium-packed coaches in the Parliament of India.

- The Constitution was enacted on 26th January, 1950. This day is celebrated as India Republic Day.

- The handwritten Constitution was signed by 284 Members of the Constituent Assembly on 24th January, 1950, including the names of 15 women. Two days later, from 26th January, this Constitution was introduced in the country.

- Constitution Divided into 25 parts, 470 articles and 12 lists, the Indian Constitution is the largest written Constitution in a world.

- Originally, the Indian Constitution had a total of 395 articles (divided into 22 parts) and 8 schedules, but as a result of various amendments, at present it has a total of 470 articles (divided into 25 parts) and 12 schedules. The third part of the Constitution describes fundamental rights.
