Conservation of forests is very important for us. We cannot even imagine human life without forests. To make people aware about its conservation, 21 March was celebrated as 'International Forest Day' all over the world. On 28 November 2012, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to celebrate 21 March every year as the International Day of Forests.

Looking at the way deforestation is increasing without any thought for the last few years, the fact cannot be denied that soon we are going to see its dire consequences. In such a situation, this day of March 21 is very important because on this day local, national and international efforts are being encouraged to organize activities related to forests and trees around the world.

In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly announced: The United Nations General Assembly, passing a resolution on 28 November 2012, declared March 21 every year to be celebrated as International Day of Forests. This day is celebrated to increase awareness among people about all types of forests around the world and to explain their importance.

Every year there is a different theme: Every year this day is celebrated on different themes. According to the United Nations, this year's theme is based on UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). Whose purpose is to protect and revitalize the ecosystem of the world. Along with this, various programs and tree plantation campaigns are also organized at the national and international level as well as at the local level for the purpose of conservation of forests in countries around the world. Every year this day is celebrated to understand the importance of forests in our lives.
