Controversy ahead of IPL, MNS activists vandalise Delhi Capitals bus

Mumbai: Ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, all the teams have started gathering in Mumbai. League matches are to be played on three different grounds in Mumbai, but before that, there has been a quarrel here. On Tuesday, the Delhi Capitals team bus was attacked in Mumbai. 5-6 activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) attacked and ransacked a Delhi Capitals bus parked in the parking lot and the police have not registered a case against all of them.

A case has been registered by the police under sections 143, 147, 149 and 427 of the IPC. Thankfully, no one has been hurt in this case. Those who ransacked the bus are workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which is Raj Thackeray's party. They vandalised buses parked near the Taj Hotel, alleging that in the IPL, the teams have given the contract of the bus to a Delhi-based company, while they demand that the local importance should be given to a Maharashtra-based company.

Let us tell you that a total of 55 league matches of the IPL will be played in three different stadiums in Mumbai. Before the matches are scheduled to be held at the CCI, DY Patil and Vonkhede ground here, all the teams have gathered at different hotels in Mumbai. If we talk about Delhi Capitals, the first match of this Rishabh Pant-led team is to be played on March 27, which will be against Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals has not won any IPL title so far. Mumbai Indians are five-time IPL winners.
