Punjab had a third consecutive day on Friday when more than 2000 cases were reported. The Health Ministry said that 38 deaths occurred in the state on Friday and 2490 new cases were registered. The number of active cases in the state has increased to 15,459. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday announced a series of restrictions in the state due to the growing covid cases. It has been said to follow the night curfew in the 11 most-affected districts in the state. All educational institutions have been closed till 31 March. During this time, it has been said that the cinema hall should be operated with 50 percent capacity in the state. The mall cannot have more than 100 people. In Punjab, restrictions have been imposed on more than 20 people gathering in public meetings, funerals, marriage, etc. programs.

The CM appealed that not more than 10 people be collected in the houses. The curfew will remain in all the covid-19 affected districts from 9 am to 5 am. On Sunday, cinema halls, multiplexes, restaurants, malls, etc. are closed.

According to the information received, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Mohali, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, and Moga are the most affected districts in Punjab. The Punjab Congress has postponed all its rallies in the state till 31 March. Captain Amarinder has asked other parties to do the same.
